During this lock down period, I thought of giving out FREE piano lessons for one objective: to test if Online Piano Teaching is possible.
First, I posted my FREE lessons in Facebook group to recruit students. I let them know about my purpose of giving FREE lesson: is to test out the quality teaching of using different apps: Zoom, Skype, Whatsapp, Wechat.
I managed to get some students to test out. Online piano coaching is possible and effective for adults, but is difficult for young children.
Here are some main points to conduct the online lesson:
1. A stable Wi-Fi and internet connection.
2. Good speaker and mic.
3. A place to hold your and your student device / devices.
Here is mine:
Not only it can hold your phone, it comes with a blue tooth remote to take photos.
There are a few who scheduled a time with me, but didn't turn up. Even though it's FREE, I think they shouldn't do this to me. I am quite sad actually. I give my heart in conducting the lessons. But oh well, why let the negativity get in me?
There are also students who are really willing to learn, and I really don't mind giving them 2 free lesson (initially I just want to give each of the ONE free lesson). I'm happy teaching them.

That is a microphone stand, clipping on a DIY lamp post made by my dad.
But you can always buy a steady one, like this one sold in Amazon.
